Online Marriage Counseling

We Can Help You

A Proven Approach to Helping Distressed Marriages

When your marriage is in troubled waters, you feel like your whole world is in jeopardy. It is an incredibly distressing, unsettling, anxious place to be in. That's why it is so important that you find the best help when you are looking for a marriage counselor.

We are a specialized team of Christian therapists who help couples create thriving, passionate marriages. Where other online counseling businesses offer untested approaches and expansive teams of anonymous helpers extending a broad scope of services, we have chosen to provide tested, proven, marriage-focused methods using only hand-picked therapists who have chosen to specialize in helping people rebuild, renew and recover their marriages.

Effective Help For Your Marriage

Our Masters-level marriage therapists have specialized training in Emotionally Focussed Couples Therapy, one of just a handful of empirically-validated approaches to helping distressed marriages. We work with you from a Bible-based value system to help you:

  • Stop fighting and start understanding one another
  • Improve communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Increase emotional and sexual intimacy
  • Solve problems that you have been stuck on "forever"
  • Connect deeply through affordable, weekly sessions that continue for months, not years

We Help Couples Through Many Issues

With decades of collective experience, there isn't much our team of qualified therapists have not seen. Also, we stay up to date on current research and best practices through continuing education and ongoing research for our marriage podcast (currently over 1M downloads!).

  • Infidelity & other forms of betrayal
  • Pornography and/or sex addiction
  • Communication problems and ongoing conflict
  • Wanting to save your marriage but other attempts have failed
  • Conflicting values or priorities

How Do We Get Started?

The best way to get started is through a quick, 15 minute video call. It'll give you a chance to experience the online video counseling experience and will give us the opportunity to get to know you a little better and ensure we're the right fit for you. You'll speak with our Clinical Director, Caleb Simonyi-Gindele. You can come alone or both you and your spouse can join the consultation: whatever works best for you.

Our Counseling Style

Our style is to be very gentle and empathic when you are sharing painful moments. We help spouses who typically withdraw to face and openly speak about what matters to them. And we help spouses who typically pursue (or attack) to learn how to approach their beloved softly with their need to be seen, heard and known.

After starting with an assessment of how your marriage is doing and learning about your shared history, we follow a proven three stage approach:

  1. Cycle De-escalation: assess and identify your unique relationship cycle and reveal the underlying emotions and needs. We validate those needs.
  2. Bonding: we assist each of you with reconnecting with your own needs and coach you towards promoting acceptance between yourselves to create emotional engagement.
  3. Consolidation: our therapist will guide you towards independently creating new solutions to old problems and developing new ways of relating.

And then we launch you! Our process is also finite: we believe that successful marriage counseling creates couples who know how to handle whatever life throws at them -- without their therapist! Of course, if you need a checkup session in the future or want help on a specific matter we can do that, but our couples leave the course of therapy with all the tools they need to navigate conflict, life-transitions, parenting issues, in-law problems, and so on.

Who Will My Counselor Be?

Our marriage counselors are very carefully selected therapists: they are hired from Masters level Marriage & Family Therapy programs with training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). Many of our clients come to us after unsuccessful engagements with other therapists and we have found our team members' educational and professional development to be an ideal combination of training and experience.

If you would like to choose one of our counselors specifically, you may do so. Otherwise, we'll make a professional assessment of your situation and recommend the Associate who is best suited to helping you. If you have certain preferences (e.g., for a female therapist or someone with a particular specialty) we are almost always able to accommodate these requests and also get you started in therapy promptly.

All of our therapists are trained professionals, licensed with their professional college or registering body, and up to date on current best practices in helping recover, rebuild and renew your marriage!

What Does It Cost?

Counseling sessions are about one hour in length and cost $150 (plus tax, where applicable). If you prefer, you can expedite the process through 90 minute sessions ($225 + tax).

Counseling is a significant investment, but the best way to think about it is to remember that on average a person loses 77% of their net worth when they divorce. Not only that, but a divorce is not just a fire exit: it is an incredibly painful, heart-rending event. We'd like to help you avoid that and so we recommend you take a close look at how you may be able to reorganize your family budget for a few months in order to make room for weekly counseling sessions. This is the kind of thing that is even worth putting long-term savings on hold for.
