Bio

From a very young age, I valued the importance of truly understanding one another. However, it wasn’t until I was a teenager that I had my first experience of feeling deeply understood myself. I still remember it as the first time I felt seen, heard, and appreciated. From that point on, I was passionate about helping others to experience this as well.

I have ten years of experience working in the helping field, including residential care work, community support work, and volunteering for a crisis line. Currently, I work as a bus driver for HandyDart while completing my Master of Arts in Couples and Family Therapy at Trinity Western University.

My Approach

I view each individual from a family systems perspective and my theoretical orientation is influenced by Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy (STST).

Imagine that every single one of your emotions cares for you. This is true, and each emotion has something it is trying to tell you. I work from a lens that believes that emotions are there for our benefit - yes, even the difficult ones. Sometimes, through difficult experiences, our beliefs about our emotions get in our way, and we might not even realize it. I will open and hold a compassionate, safe space for you to examine your unique experience and unpack what it could look like for you to heal and grow. Let's explore the world of emotions together on a journey of self-discovery!
